HGTV is giving away a Green home. And a GMC Yukon Hybrid. No really!

According to the site:

One lucky person will win a new GMC Yukon Hybrid and this beautifully furnished eco-friendly home in Tradition Hilton Head, S.C.

The house in South Carolina plus the Yukon Hybrid is a grand prize package worth $850,000. Not too shabby.

The house itself is Green in the following ways:
* furniture upholstered in eco-friendly fabric
* native and drought-tolerant landscaping
* storm water collected from the street, stored in a network of retention ponds then used to irrigate neighborhood lawns
* Permeable concrete pavers – used to harvest and filter rainwater, purifying it before it reaches the water table
* recycled wood in various rooms (beds, cabinets, etc.)
* low-flow toilets (which also uses water recycled from roof runoff)
* high-quality sustainably-manufactured linens

So, if you won would you move? We’re truly happy in California, and having not visited South Carolina, I can’t say if I could live there, green home or not.

But winning sounds pretty good. I’m sure we would find a way to make it work out.
