6 Myths About Organic Food

MSN is stirring it up with another negative slant article on organic food. I suppose when the economy is terrible, the Final Four is over and there is nothing more to be said about the disaster that is our government, they turn to this.
But there is education in there, and much of this is interpretive. According to the article, here is a list of the 6 Myths About Organic Food:
1. Organic Food Is Always Better For The Environment.
2. It’s More Nutritious.
3. It Tastes Better.
4. You Don’t Have To Be As Careful About Washing It.
5. You’re Supporting Small Farms Or Eco-Companies.
6. It’s Better For You.
Each of these points is easily debated, so it’s a case of the author leading with offense. Read through their points to get the true flavor.
In all fairness, they do include positives in buying organic so it isn’t a complete slam piece. Here is a list of what they deem as good about organic foods (how generous!):
1. It’s More Humane.
2. It May Reduce Your Risk Of Getting Mad Cow.
3. It’s Getting Easier.
4. How “Organic” Is It? (labelling)
The intent behind the points may be lost on the average MSN reader. This is disappointing, as it’s a pretty standard ‘lead with a hook’ news story.
Maybe the negative spin is intentional (um, I’m thinking so). And maybe it’s our job to not get riled up. I just expect more from a company like Microsoft, and MSN which has an entire Living Green segment of their site. Not to mention that they hosted the Live Earth shows from last summer.
Either way, full article here.

Interesting read. Thanks for the article man.
