Living With Ed’s 10 Ways To Go Green
I had just remembered a recycling tip that I had heard on HGTV’s show Living With Ed: when recycling a plastic or glass bottle, it has to be lid-free. The reason for this is that most recloseable lids are of a non-recyclable material. Rather than being separated later, a perfectly reusable bottle will get thrown away.
And then of course, I thought a little more about the show itself.
The show Living With Ed is a pretty entertaining ‘reality show’ (for lack of a better term) that shows super-environmentalist Ed Begley and his wife, Rachelle, eco-upgrading their home, learning about new products and ideas and visiting with the occasional celebrity friend.
Sounds like it could be dull, but the chemistry, not to mention their friends, makes this show really enjoyable. I look forward to seeing if they produce more.
Currently on hiatus, or between ’seasons’, the HGTV site still has a decent amount of information. Chief of which, in video-form: Ed Begley’s top 10 Ways to Go Green.
Video titles and subjects include:
Insulation Initiatives
Prudent Programmed Thermostat
Plant A Triumphant Tree!
The video clips are less than a minute long each, and give a solid dose of practical advice for making Green changes to your home and life.
While the show is in re-runs - if even that - go check out the HGTV site. You might even learn something (I definitely have)!
