Spring is absolutely blooming here in Northern California. My Apple weather widget tells me that it’s 70 degrees currently in my town. Sunny and clear with a slight breeze.
I’ve got my feet up, resting from an Easter brunch in our backyard. Once our boys wake up, we’re off to another Easter party.
And looking outside, I’m happy to see solar energy at work on our laundry
One my favorite ways to reduce energy consumption is to hang dry my clothes, once they’ve been washed.
We have enough handwash-delicate laundry items, which require that we hang them to dry. But we often dry our boys wet socks, pants, my handwashed running gear and other outdoorsy clothes in the sun.
Reducing the dryer load and saving energy is definitely the big win. But I just like the way that my clothes smell when I’ve allowed them to dry in the fresh air.
So, if the weather in your area is nice and you’ve got a few places to hang your clothes in the sun, consider using some solar energy. Free and all good.
