EarthVision 2008: Green Film Festival

SF Bay Area locals, or anyone traveling to our fine area, check this out:

EarthVision 2008 is a film festival dedicated to promoting films dealing with ecological issues. The emphasis is on positive change and inspiring others.

Sounds pretty cool, right?

Here are the main points:

When: March 3rd – 8th, 2008 with a special screening for Act Locally on Earth Day in April (22nd).

Where: Santa Cruz, CA: the Rio Theatre, Veteran’s Memorial Hall and greenspace; Watsonville, CA: Mello Center.

What is EarthVision?:

The festival seeks to raise consciousness about environmental issues, educate people and mobilize support. EarthVision does this in several ways: The films shown instill concern for the issues they raise, and they seed enthusiasm for change in the audience. The festival encourages filmmakers to continue with their hard work, while providing a venue in which they can witness their accomplishments being celebrated.

Award winning films will be screened at all above locations. EarthVision will culminate with a celebration honoring the filmmakers and people on the front lines of the environmental movement.

Check out the EarthVision site for more information. If you’re interested in what films will be shown, check out the schedule and list of films.
