Google Tries To Be Vegetarian

google tries to be vegetarian

I found this little item while researching last week. According to Googlefied, the Google campus (aka, “Googleplex”) in Mountain View has one cafe which is squarely vegetarian. Kind of…

Googleplex has a cafe called the No Name Café, which “focuses on healthy dishes and has delicious vegetarian and vegan selections.” Compare this photo from CNN and the photo above, and it seems like that Google has either changed the definition of “always” or “vegetarian”. (it appears to me that there’s a whole plate of hams)

Both photos are available so you can see for yourself. So either the photo is incorrect, or Google is redefining the term “vegetarian”.

Knowing a little about the culture of Google, my guess is that they DO have a vegetarian cafe, which truly is always “vegetarian”. The hams are a decoy! Or a trick, or a joke.

Seriously, too many people have “vegetarian” tendencies, or it is part of their culture. Especially in the West, and especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A big company like Google offers too many other perks to not consider something this (now) basic.
