Vegan Shoes for Work

We had a recent discussion at home about getting a leather chair. My wife is a designer, and found something she thought might look great in our front room.

I balked: “Not interested in a leather chair”.

She countered: “You wear leather shoes”. True, I do for work. There was no true challenge to her point… except: I’d wear something other than leather shoes in the office if there were a reasonable, veggie-friendly replacement.

Enter Earth footwear. There are others out there, but for today, I’m focusing here.

Earth footwear sells pretty cool looking Vegan Society certified shoes. A shoe with the Vegan Society’s logo has been certified to not use any animal or animal by-products in its design or development. The leather replacement is microfiber. Some styles are available in both materials.

But there is more than just the vegan aspect to consider. Earth footwear also

  • promotes itself as a socially and environmentally responsible company.
  • incorporates their homegrown Kalso Negative Heel technology, which allows you to shift your weight back when walking or exercising. The result is more calories burned, and better toning.
  • offer shoes in all styles: casual, active/workout and business. Overall, it’s not easy for me to buy shoes without trying them on first. But given the positives of buying shoes from a company like Earth footwear, I’m thinking of taking that plunge soon. They’re an environmentally friendly business, their shoes are healthy and promote better health. It all works.

And by the way, The “Brion” looks like it might be my suitable replacement!
